Low-Carbon Agriculture

Enabling the agricultural sector to become a full actor in climate change mitigation

The necessary fight against the causes of climate change, along with related regulations, requires reducing the carbon footprint of agricultural production. In arable farming, there are two levers to achieve this reduction: decreasing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from agricultural practices and storing more carbon in soils. These two approaches are not always easy to combine with each other or with agronomic objectives.

Agro-Transfert focuses on this balance between carbon efficiency and agronomic interest, ever since COP21 (2015) placed agriculture among the priorities in the fight against  climate change.

Our expertise for your projects

  • With over 20 years of experience in soil organic matter evolution and more than 10 years of work on agricultural life cycle analyses, Agro-Transfert now brings together its expertise in this field to support low-carbon agriculture in the arable sector.
  • From the field to the territory, we offer calculation tools and expert guidance to address carbon in agriculture, enabling the arable sector to fully contribute to climate change mitigation.
  • Helping the agricultural sector become a climate actor also means understanding and supporting the new ecosystem of stakeholders involved in the low-carbon transition. Accordingly, our work also focuses on creating technical references, developing and comparing methods, and studying potentials to support these stakeholders.
