Low-input producing
Agro-Transfert develops solutions to design and implement low-input farming systems
Whether you are an advisor, facilitator, or farmer, Agro-Transfert offers you:
- Insights into the biological processes at play
- Methods to identify actionable levers and strategies that farmers can use to reduce inputs and the environmental impact of their practices
- Tools and step-by-step approaches to guide farmers in reducing inputs and the environmental impact of their practices

Managing weed challenges and reducing herbicides
Annual and perennial weeds are major challenges in cropping systems due to yield losses they cause and their impact on harvest quality. Our work highlights agronomic levers to control weeds based on their biological characteristics (emergence period, base temperature, water potential, etc.). We have developed methods to design systems with lower weed pressure and reduced herbicide use, and to support the implementation of these new practices.
“The most important thing for me today is to have clean fields.
And I won’t achieve that with herbicides.”

Better nitrogen management to reduce nitrogen losses
Nitrogen management and minimizing nitrogen losses must be considered at the rotation scale to ensure farm performance and water quality. Understanding the nitrogen cycle and modeling nitrogen flows in the system are essential to identify the sources of losses and the solutions suitable for each situation. Agro-Transfert has developed a methodology and a training toolkit to guide farmers in improving nitrogen management.. This approach is based on result-oriented objectives and uses a dashboard to structure actions and steps.
Scientific expertise
The scientific guidance of our projects is provided by INRAE researchers. We are also members of the Mixed Technological Networks GAFAD and Bouclage. Our work is recognized nationally and internationally through the facilitation of working groups within these networks, publication of articles, and presentations at conferences.
